We take this ministry very seriously, and for this reason we recommend that only those who feel called to this ministry and time commitment plan to audition. <B>Vocal Praise Team auditions are open to anyone who feels called to a ministry of facilitation in corporate worship and has a background in vocal music. Team members must have experience in reading music, a plus, a background in improvisational harmonization, and willingness to memorize music on a weekly basis. The team is currently divided between the four Saturday corporate worship times with six vocalists participating in each service. Team members must be able to attend weekly rehearsals on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:15 p.m. and arrive for vocal warm-up and prayer 15 minutes prior to their assigned service on Saturdays.  Membership to the team requires an audition and personal testimony.</B></div> <div> If the Lord has led you to consider auditioning, here are the musical abilities and other Requirements that are necessary to proceed:</div> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>MUSICAL REQUIREMENTS</B></div> <div> All potential team members should:</div> <bR> <div> 1) Be comfortable with singing and have had a background as vocalists; having sung in a small ensemble in the past will be helpful but not necessary to audition.</div> <bR> <div> 2) Have a working knowledge of music.</div> <bR> <div> 3) Be able to read music and reasonably sight sing music.</div> <bR> <div> 4) Be comfortable with harmony and be able to “create” harmonies as needed to fill inner parts of songs.</div> <bR> <div> 5) Be able to “carry” your specific vocal part on your own.</div> <bR> <div> 6) Understand that potential team members may be accepted after audition, but their entry to the team may be delayed by a lack of an opening or specific vocal part needs.</div> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>SPIRITUAL AND TIME REQUIREMENTS</B></div> <div> All potential team members should:</div> <bR> <div> 1) Be involved in a weekly Bible study sponsored by NHCC. This includes, but is not limited to small groups, Saturday School, or a weekly Bible study meeting.</div> <bR> <div> 2) Be able to attend a weekly team rehearsal, usually held on Wednesdays from 6:25 to 8:15p.m.</div> <bR> <div> 3) Be available to sing in any service on Saturdays, with the understanding that the worship pastor will attempt to limit regular scheduling to the team member's desired service and he will also not normally schedule a team member for more than one service on a given Saturday.</div> <bR> <div> 4) Clearly understand that all music must be studied and memorized each week, a task which may cost team members as much as two hours or more outside of the team rehearsal.</div> <bR> <div> 5) Understand that team members need to attend rehearsals on Wednesday even when they are not scheduled on the following Saturday.</div> <bR> <div> 6) Understand that membership in the Praise Team is available only to those who also participate in the Celebration Choir.</div> <bR> <div> 7) Be willing to be accountable to the rest of the team by checking e-mail on a regular basis for updates (or making your OWN arrangements to stay updated if you do not have e-mail access) and by reporting planned absences from rehearsals or services as early as possible to the vocal team coordinator and/or the worship pastor.</div> <bR> <div> 8) Be willing to give your testimony for other team members.</div> <bR> <div> 9) Be a team player who is able to put self aside in favor of the team and most importantly, the Lord.</div> <bR> <div> 10) Finally, we believe that flexibility and sensitivity to God's leadership are very important in worship. Changes in scheduling and other aspects of the ministry WILL occur regularly and with little or no warning.
